Robert Woods is the founder and President of Topside Consulting Group, LLC. Topside provides strategic consulting services to commercial and government clients that are involved in the outsourcing of government services to the private sector. All of Topside's partners and senior consultants have managed major government programs from either the government or the private sector side. Clients include major Fortune 500 companies and federal agencies with critical missions. Formerly, Mr. Woods served as President of Education Services for ACS Government Services Group. As such, he oversaw all of ACS's Education vertical market, one of the largest in ACS. Prior to his tenure with ACS GSG, he was President and COO of Federal Sources, Inc. At both ACS and Fed Sources, he had P&L responsibility and business development oversight. Mr. Woods spent over 29 years as a key official in the Federal IT Community. He led major IT programs at the Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Transportation, Department of Veterans Affairs and General Services Administration. He finished his career in the Federal Government as the Commissioner of the Federal Technology Service (FTS) at General Services Administration. Mr. Woods has held leadership positions in several professional and business organizations throughout his career. Currently, he is chairman of the Industry Advisory Council (IAC), an influential organization of companies that provide IT services and products to the government. He is the recipient of three Federal 100 awards and a Presidential Rank award. In 1999 Post Newsweek selected Mr. Woods to their IT Hall of Fame. Educational credentials include an undergraduate engineering degree from Virginia Tech, an MBA from George Washington University, and a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard's JFK School of Government. |
