Joan Golden is a former Federal executive with 34 years of policy and operations leadership experience. Ms. Golden retired in 2008 as the Deputy Chief Information Officer for the US Forest Service (FS). The FS Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) provides hardware, software, technology support, and other services for 40,000 employees in over 900 office locations. As Deputy FS CIO, she collaborated with both management oversight groups and the Labor/Management Partnership Council to accomplish a transformational change to a unified service-wide delivery of information technology. Prior to her work in information technology, Ms. Golden was a Human Capital Manager at the US Department of Agriculture, managing performance management and payroll personnel systems. In that role, she provided advice to the Office of the Secretary and leadership to the Human Capital Management community. Ms. Golden was recently elected as the Vice Chair of the HCM Shared Interest Group for the Industry Advisory Committee (IAC) which addresses issues of significant interest to government. She also is a volunteer with NOVACO, Inc., whose mission is to help homeless victims of domestic abuse. She is a member of the Duke University Alumni Association, and the liaison with George Mason University for the Kings Park West Neighborhood Association. |
