After a thirty year career in the federal government, Harold F. Gracey, Jr. most recently served for 2.5 years as Vice President, Systems Integration Division, PEC Solutions, Inc. Prior to that, Mr. Gracey was Vice President for Government Affairs at FedBid.com a subsidiary of Procurement Technologies, Inc. In Mr. Gracey's 30 year Federal career, he rose to the highest level in career civil service, and received many prestigious awards. He held positions with the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Department of the Army. In his last assignment he served as the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Information and Technology and acting Chief Information Officer of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the second largest Cabinet Department in the federal government. In that position he led the Department through the Y2K Transition. From 1994 to 1998 he was the Chief of Staff of the Department of Veterans Affairs, the senior career operations and policy official in the 240,000 person, $50 Billion Department. He had previously been the Chief of Staff of the Veterans Benefits Administration. He originally joined VA in 1983 with the Office of Information Resources Management. He received both the President's Meritorious and Distinguished Executive Rank Awards, and the Executive Excellence award for Distinguished Executive Achievement from the Senior Executives Association. In 1997, he was profiled in the National Journal as one of the 100 most influential people in the nation's capital. He was a member of the Federal 100 in 2000.
